Database Synchronization

In Settings, under SQL Connection à Synchronization tab, you will find the options for synchronizing the databases.

Note: the options are enabled only when you are connected to a SQL Server database.

Requirements: Working Groups Relationship

In order to synchronize from/to SQL Server, you first need to set a link  between your local Working Groups and SQL Server Working groups.

You can create links from the button “Create links between Working Groups” in this form:

You can see the Local Working groups on the left, and the SQL Server Working groups on the right side of this form. In the bottom part of the screen you can see all the links already created.

Note: the SQL Server Working Groups that you can see could be only a selection of the working groups contained in the SQL Server database. The SQL Server Administrator can decide to allow the user to see only certain working groups. If you need to work with a SQL Server working group that you are not able to see here, contact your SQL Server administrator. See SQL Administrator Tools section below for more details.

To synchronize the groups data, you need to create links for each working group you want to synchronize. To do that, you need to select one local working group and one SQL Server working group, and then you can click on the “Create Link” button (the button with a green arrow) that will complete the process.

You can change the link or delete them at anytime; only one link can be active for each group, so if you want to create a relation between a new working group and a group that is already in a link, the old link will be overwritten.

If you select a working group with an active link, the group related to it will be automatically selected, and you will be able to delete the relationship clicking the “Delete Link” button (the button with a red cross):

Please remember that ONLY the working groups with a link will be synchronized.

After this process, you can proceed with the synchronization.
