Farm synchronization

When the farm owner receives a Farm file modified by another user, he can check the list of the changes and decide to synchronize his database data with those stored in the file. Unlike an import of the whole farm, this operation selectively carries in the user’s database data affected by the changes only.

The farm owner must carefully consider how the synchronization can affect data stored in his database.

For example, if some changes are made by the owner to the farm contents after exporting and giving the farm file to another user, these changes are confined to his user database only.            When the files come back there is a potentially ambiguos situation, since the modifications made by the owner are not in the file; so a synchronization in this case could lead to a loss of these changes, if they are related to the same data modified by the other user in the file. For this reason, it is recommended to make a back up of the user database before doing synchronization.
